All Boards of Selectmen, of the member towns that make up the Quabbin Regional School District received notice that on September 13, 2018 the Quabbin Regional School Committee voted to begin the process of closing the New Braintree Elementary School. In addition, the notice cites the QRSD Regional School Agreement, closure of an elementary school is governed by Section IX(A)5. Section IX(A)5 sets out a five-step process which must be followed before an elementary school may be closed. Further all Boards of Selectmen of the member towns have been requested to attend a Joint Public Meeting along with representatives of the school district on Thursday, October 18, 2018. This is the first step in the process for the closure of New Braintree’s Elementary School. |
