ANNOUNCEMENTS:
It’s Apple Country Fair time! Brookfield’s biggest community-grown event is back for its 35th year THIS Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Brookfield Town Common. The fair features the work of 70 local crafters, food, raffles, non-profit booths, children’s activities and the annual apple pie contest. The fair is a fundraiser for local programs. The Brookfield Cultural Council will be holding the 6th Annual Pumpkinfest on Saturday, Oct. 19 on the common. This is a carved pumpkin contest with registration beginning at 4:30 p.m. Storyteller, John Porcino at 5 p.m. music by Boys of the Town, cider and donuts, prizes. 
Trick or Treating will be held on Halloween night on the streets in the Village area this year from 6 to 7:30 pm. The parade will begin at 7:30 p.m. and end on the Common with the costume contest.
Brookfield Agricultural Commission extends an invitation to all those interested in better understanding the State’s Forestry programs to attend a program at the Brookfield Town Hall Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m. on programs available, expectations a landowner or abutter may have, provide best management practices and answer questions.
