As in the past, there will be no parking on the streets, whether or not snow is predicted and anyone in violation of parking on the street will receive a citation of $15.00 for the first offense. MARK YOUR CALENDARS: The Culture Council would like you to remind you of the House Decorating Contest, Sunday, December 16th. An entry form must be completed and returned to the Cultural Council – for more details, contact the Town Hall 508-867-2930 x 10 or 12. Brookfield Ecumenical Food Pantry: is always looking for your help in the form of cash or donations. Please contact either Louise Woodard at 508-867-3891 or Pauline Walker at 508-867-2281 to help your neighbors. The Food Pantry is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Toys for Joy: It isn’t too late to drop off toys or money at the Fire Station for Christmas for needy children of Brookfield and East Brookfield. Call the Fire Station at 508-867-7306 if you have questions. Classification Hearing: The annual Tax Classification Hearing which is a necessary step toward setting the FY 2013 Tax Rate and is sponsored by the Assessors, will be held this Friday, December 14th at the Town Hall, Banquet Room at 1:00 pm. SECOND CHANCE: Due to the extension given for applying for a Hazardous Mitigation Grant, the Highway is still accepting letters of support for two major problem drainage areas: Mill Street and Long Hill Road. If you live on or near either of these roads and/or you ever travel them, could you please write a short letter to support the grant application which is for funding? This funding, if received would fix the drainage issues on these two roads and avoid having to close the roads at time of flooding.
