6. 7:30 TOWN OF SHUTESBURY NOTICE OF VIRTUAL PUBLIC HEARING SHUTESBURY PLANNING BOARD
The Shutesbury Planning Board will hold a virtual public hearing at 7:30PM June 22, 2020 to consider: replacing the existing sign bylaw; amending the solar bylaw; and amending the open space design bylaw. The proposed sign bylaw would clarify where signs may be located and grandfather existing signs. Amendments to the solar bylaw would: limit large-scale ground-mounted solar electric installations to 9 designated zones, each of which may contain no more than one; create stricter access requirements; and require additional documentation with respect to construction impacts. Amendments to the open design section (Article V) would: help to restore the original conservation intent of the bylaw; require a special permit for non-subdivision proposals; bring the bylaw into compliance with normal zoning practice; and offer applicants more options for securing protection of the required open space. Texts of the proposed amendments are available on the Planning Board webpage at www.shutesbury.org.
Public participation will be via virtual means only. Pursuant to Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §18, and the Governor’s March 15, 2020 Order imposing strict limitation on the number of people that may gather in one place, this meeting of the Shutesbury Planning Board will be conducted via remote participation.
Instructions for participating in the virtual Public Hearing will be listed on the meeting agenda posted on the Town calendar.
