Call meeting to order 6:30 p.m.
Review/edit/approve minutes from Monday, June 9, 2014. Motion by
Ratify warrants submitted, Library Expenses dated FY15 August 19, July 31, July 17, July 8, and July 1. Motion by
Ratify warrants submitted, Library Books dated FY15 August 21, August 13, July 31, and July 17.
Ratify warrants submitted, Library Payrolls dated FY15 August 26, august 13, July 17, July1. Motion by
MBLC required ARIS report submitted August 20. This is the statistical report regarding circulation and general library usage for FY2014.
Yellow House, Prouty street update. The library attic has be cleaned out of a lot of the recycle products used for home and school projects, there is no more Halloween costume exchange and we no longer have space to items donated for a free school supplies giveaway. The books among other materials and furniture from Prouty Street are now stored in library attic, along with acid free boxes of archival materials.
Merrick Public Library sign. Discussion needed as to preferences of were to hang the sign near the circulation desk.
Ash tree situation. The Tree Warden and the Shade Tree Warden have been notified as to the questionable condition of the tree on library property. Friday, August 22 I met with the Tree Warden Bill and was informed he would post and host the 2 public meetings regarding the shade tree removal from the library property. The tree is recommended to be removed and approved by Ron Coutrue, Shade Tree Warden and Bill Stendrup, Tree Warden. The expenses of removal are the responsibility of the Tree Warden, Kate and Bill Simpson are interested in taking the wood and we are responsible for replacing the tree.
National Grid, we are currently paying .16 for Supply Services, is there a cheaper rate, and can we shop around for a better rate.
CORI accounts. MGL’s and confirmation of 2007 set-up of these accounts approved by the Board of Trustees. Sally Brown, Chairman administers these accounts.
Administration and Finance Policies and Procedures: A draft was approved 9/2/2014 for Department Heads to review. We should submit a letter to the Board of Selectmen regarding our no charge for copies and print out from the computer and our no fine policies. The “Senior Center” is listed also.
