Agenda: | Town of Brookfield Selectmen's Agenda Town Hall Tuesday, March 4, 2014 – 5:30 pm PLEASE NOTE: This meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Banquet Hall and adjourn immediately to the Selectmen’s office for an Executive Session. It is intended to begin the open session part of this meeting as closely as possible to 6:00 pm. APPROVE PAYROLL WARRANT for RATIFY WIREWARRANT for 2/25/14: $14.25 RATIFY EXPENSE WARRANT for 2/25/14: $155,952.60 APPROVAL OF SELECTMEN’S MINUTES: 2/4/14, 2/18/14 Acknowledge Monthly Reports & Minutes of Other Departments: Cultural Council 1/27/14 ANNOUNCEMENTS: Nomination Papers are currently available in the Town Clerk’s office. The election will be held May 5. The last day to return nomination papers is March 17. The last day for candidates to withdraw is March 31. The last day to register to vote for the election is April 15. Brush Burning: Permits for the outdoor burning of brush and forestry debris are available. Burning is allowed only between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. To obtain a permit call the dispatch office at 508-867-1066 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. on the day you want to burn. Parking Ban: The Town's winter parking ban is effect through April 1st. The ban is in effect from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Vehicles that violate the winter parking ban may be ticketed by the police and receive a $25 fine. Vehicles that directly hamper snow removal efforts will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. Senior and Veteran Tax Work-Off applications are available at the Selectmen’s Office. This program allows qualified residents to earn up to $500 off their property tax bill. Street Lights: The Town of Brookfield pays for street lights whether they are on or not. If you see a light that is flickering or out, please take down the pole number and contact Administrative Assistant Jennifer Grybowski at jgrybowski@brookfieldma.us or 508-867-2930 X10. Brookfield Ecumenical Food Pantry: is always looking for your help in the form of cash or donations. Please contact either Louise Woodard at 508-867-3891 or Pauline Walker at 508-867-2281 to help your neighbors. The Food Pantry is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 9:30 to 11 am.
