Proposed FY 2017 Joint CDBG Application

The Ware Board of Selectmen will conduct a Public Hearing on February 21, 2017 at 7:15 PM at the Selectmen’s meeting room, Ware Town Hall, 126 Main Street regarding a proposed regional FY2017 application by the towns of Ware, Hardwick, and Warren to the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development for up to $1.3 million in Community Development Block Grant funds. If awarded, the Town of Ware (as lead community) will be responsible for administration of the grant program, with assistance from the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission.

The application will seek funds for housing rehabilitation assistance and public social services in each town (expected to include, but not limited to: adult literacy, domestic violence victim advocacy, community and family health/outreach, and senior outreach). These projects were identified as priorities that are consistent with each town’s Community Development Strategy and the state’s sustainable development principles.

All persons with questions or comments regarding the grant application will have an opportunity to be heard. The Board of Selectmen’s meeting room at the Ware Town Hall is handicapped accessible.
