Review/edit/approve minutes from Tuesday, January 13, 2014. Motion
Ratify Payroll warrants dated, January 14 and January 29, 2015. Motion
Ratify Expense warrant dated, January 16, 2015. Motion
Ratify Books warrant dated, January 16, 2015. Motion
FY 2016 Budget meeting with the Advisory Board on Wednesday, January 21 was informational, with no update on the percentage for salary increase. The SLIN grant program was explained and the impact on the budget was shown (from $2500 FY13 to only $600 FY14.)
The cut in the SLIN grant had an impact on our expense budget, we were not forewarned, the balance in the expense account is @$340. We have 4553.31 in the State Aid account. We should be able to spend less than the $1900, but should approve an amount to spend when expense funds run out.
Brenda was sworn in for Notary Public on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 and has purchased the equipment necessary. Her commission expires on November 5, 2021. The total costs: Commission fee, $60. seal and log book, $66.94 (one-time startup cost). This commission is for seven years. A motion to approve expenditures of $126.94 from State Aid to reimburse Brenda.
Conflict of interest Law and certificates of the online test all employees and elected officials must take annually. All the library employees have completed and their certificates have been submitted to the Town Clerk. The Board of Trustees must complete their test and submit.
Article regarding the Historic Documents Committees work on converting the microfilm to PDF files was published in the Telegram and Gazette, January 31, 2015. Dan Hamilton to be interviewed by the Spencer New Leader regarding this.
Art and museum appraisers list. Brenda has recently printed a list of appraisers used by public libraries in Mass. Would it make sense to have an appraisal done in conjunction with the Historical Commission? Include the desk?
The oil tank was filled on Thursday, Feb. 5. 500 gallons at 3.99 a gallon.
