Pursuant to Governor Baker’s June 16, 2021 signing of an Act relative to extending certain COVID-19 measures adopted during the State of Emergency including the extension of his March 12, 2020 Order suspending certain provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, § 20 until April 1, 2022, this meeting of the Chatham Historical Commission is being conducted via remote participation.
Every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings as provided for in the Order. Presentation and Discussion of the draft Historic Incentive Zoning Bylaw – Town Staff.

Old Business:
• Update, Preservation Awards FY22 – Two Nominations received to date.
• Archaeological survey of Chatham Cemeteries Form E’s” – Steve Burlingame update, discussion with Craig Chartier. Possible CPA Grant Request – Review of Quote from Craig Chartier.
• Update of CHC 2009 Town Wide Archaeological Survey/Report/Form “D’s, Chatham CPA Grant Request submitted 1/14/2022.
• Nickerson Family Association Site – National Register Listing Process, Nickerson Family Assoc./Conservation Foundation/Atwood CHS sites. Chatham CPA Grant Request submitted 1/14/2022.
• Adherence to Historical Commission Decisions/Determinations. Process and options (fines) for noncompliance of determinations.
• Demolition by Neglect/Property Maintenance Bylaws Review – Stephanie Hamilton/Aly Sabatino.
• South Chatham National Register District Nomination. Update on status of April 12, 2021 MHC Correspondence requesting response to comments on – Revised application completed, submitted to MHC, Stakeholder’s meeting – Fall 2021/Spring 2022.
Chairman’s Report:
• Correspondence - Open Meeting Law Advisory 1/19/2022.
• Status of Current Demolition Delays.
• Status of Current Administrative Reviews & Ratification: 133 Queen Anne Road & 935 Old Queen Anne Road.
• Status on 68 Shell Drive – Relocation/Flaking of historic Barn, by Nickerson Family Assoc. to relocate it to NFA property in process…CPC application presented 1/3/22.
• Monomoy Theatre Property - 776 Main St, Status of NRD application with MHC, (on hold by owner 10/25/2021). Subdivision plan endorsed by the PB on 12/13/2021.
Issues on hold due to COVID-19 limitations.
• Review of Chapter 158 bylaw, re: current 75-year threshold for acceptance.
• Development of Preservation Plan.
• Administrative Review Process, expansion in future on the determination of Historical Significance.
• Former, Stage Island, US Coast Guard Boat House– CPA Funding for return to Chatham, approved, Design for utilization as upweller in process. Necessary repairs to close for winter storage.
