Information for Meeting of Planning Board

The Town of Berlin Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 7:45 p.m. at the Berlin Town Offices, 23 Linden Street, Berlin.  The purpose of the public hearing is to provide interested parties with an opportunity to comment on proposals to amend the Town of Berlin Zoning By-Laws pursuant to M.G.L. c.40 A section 5 to be acted upon at the Annual Town Meeting to be held May 1, 2017.  The proposed amendments to the Zoning By-law would be:
     Article 1:  To see if the Town will vote to amend the Berlin Zoning Bylaw Article 5, Supplemental Regulations, Section 510 and 520 relating to the issuance of Special Permits for In-Law and Accessory Apartments and the duration of such permits.
     Article 2:  To see if the Town will vote to amend the Berlin Zoning Bylaw Article 15: Growth Management, Section 1520 b, Applicability, by deleting the words “June 1, 2007” and adding the words “June 1, 2018” and in Section 1560, b, by adding the words “and development in the Village Overlay District pursuant to Section 450” after the words “Section 720”
     Article 3:  To see if the Town will vote to amend the Berlin Zoning ByLaw by adding a new subsection 458.5 “Special Drive-Through window requirements in the Village Overlay District” providing conditions for the approval by the Planning Board of drive through window service in the Village Overlay District.
     Article 4:  To create a Senior Residential Development Overlay District (Section 430 Town of Berlin Zoning By-Law) on a 78+/- acre parcel of land located on the westerly side of Highland Street.  (Assessors Map 15 Parcel 27).  The parcel is owned by Christopher Slade, Trustee of the Ken-Chris Realty Trust.
