LIBRARY
Trustee Position available, Erica Robert passed away this summer and her term was renewed during the 2022 election to serve 2022-2025. The Trustees are authorized to appoint a candidate to serve her term and run for election in 2025. We nominate Mary Lou Knight to fill Erica’s position. We need a motion, 2nd and a vote to approve.
Our next step is to announce our decision to the Board of Selectmen and with their approval, have Mary Lou sworn in as a Trustee. The next BOS meeting is Thursday, September 7 at 6:15pm.
Library Trustee Memorial Bench on porch of Annex. Discuss creating a memorial for past Trustees – Barbara and Wilfred Steadman and Erica?
Library building discussion: ADA Ramp needs replacement or updating. Pulpit window needs sealing, painting and repair. Ask Jeff Taylor for contractor information regarding ramp.
Annex building discussion: House needs siding or painting, and the barn also.
Review and edits of the attached policies for the Merrick Public Library. Steps: (1) Review for Wednesday, October 4, 2023; (2) Wednesday, November 1, vote to adopt edited policies.
350th Parade is Sunday, September 17! A handout is available for details. Barbara, Sally, Andrea, will be in the carriage, 3 more seats available (Mary Lou and Karen?) Other members of the staff and Trustees will walk along behind the carriage.
