6. Evaluate in-ground garden spaces: medians, 707 and South Street. Consider the need for any rosebush replacement. Cultivate medians; begin pre planting activities: trenching, soil refreshment/replacement where required. When…dates/times? Holiday Farm bedding soil, additional top dressing. Obtain prices from vendors for soil.  

7. In ground garden design/ ideas for season 2023.   Use last year’s order as a guide, but any agreed upon changes are welcome. Numbers of plants…Fewer/more? Create a planting template, drawing or sketch, especially for the large triangular spaces, so volunteers have a copy and are organized when planting time arrives.  Same design for both areas?  Who?

8.  Farmer’s Market at Mall Should begin Saturday, May 6(?) the weekend before Mother’s Day, and will continue each Saturday 8AM to 2 PM throughout the season. Dr Lahey’s Garden Center in Dalton had limited selection of plants.  Should check with them again?  As in the past, Jaeschke’s 10% discount. 

9. 707 site is difficult to maintain as foot & vehicular traffic wanders onto planting spaces at times.  Winters are particularly hard in that some people seem to take great delight in driving through the garden when the dirt is soft creating the need for an intensive rejuvenation in the spring.   It is a beautiful space when in bloom.  Pedestrian comments, as well as the community at large, really enjoy this area.  Hardy pansies in bloom bring early color to announce spring’s arrival and show this space as a garden.
