Pursuant to Governor Healey’s March 29, 2023 signing of the Acts of 2023 extending certain COVID-19 measures adopted during the State of Emergency suspending certain provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, § 20 until March 31, 2025 this meeting of the Chatham Historical Commission is being conducted in person and via remote participation.
Every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings as provided for in the Order. •Update, CHC 2009 Town Wide Archaeological Survey/Report/Form D’s –Kick Off Meeting with PAL, Holly Herbster 4-24-23. Efforts proceeding, as defined.
•William and Anne Nickerson homesite – National Register eligibility process, Nickerson family assoc./conservation foundation sites – revision of scope of work and cost estimates, received and review in process. (Can be initiated after completion of PAL’s Archeological Survey,)
•Archaeological survey of Chatham Cemeteries, update Form E’s – Revision of scope of work and cost estimates in process with proposed vendor.
•Update to 2015 Chatham Survey Plan – Form A’s & B”s Updates as required. Contract Kick Off Meeting, 5-3-23 with Preservation Consultant Eric Dray.
•Monomoy Theatre Property - 776 Main St, Concepts/Restoration for Washington /Taylor House & Theatre, Final design, “on hold”. Pending Legal Action.
•Review of Current Historical Commission applications, discussion of changes in process.
•Proposed 2023 - 2024 Preservation Planning Workplan in process – Ryan Christenberry
•Amendments to Demolition Delay Bylaw to Address Neglect - In Review – Ryan Christenberry

•Status of Current Demolition Delays – 127 Stage Harbor Road expired 2/4/2023, awaiting resubmission to ZBA.

•Review of Chapter 158 bylaw, re: current 75-year threshold for acceptance.
•Development of Preservation Plan.
•Administrative Review Process, expansion in future on the determination of Historical Significance.
•Preliminary review for possible update of Marconi-RCA National Register District in relation to the Archeological Reconnaissance Survey from March 2009, to be updated. |
