Brenda handed out new policies to look at for the March meeting. Homebound Delivery Service Policy and Volunteer application, INternet and wireless Use Policy, Item Donation policy, Land Acknowledgement, Request for Reconsideration Form.
The FY, Fiscal Year Budget for 2025 was due on Thursday, Feb. 1 and it was submitted (emailed) Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024. Copies are available and Brenda
Brenda is looking to hire another Library Assistant at 8-10 hours per week.
Upcoming Library events:
Miss Shanna will hold her “Preschool Program'' every Friday from 11:30am-12 noon. This event is funded by the Jeppson Grant.
The Chess Club will meet every Friday from 3:30-4:30pm.
Alison O’Leary will present The Best Small Museums in Massachusetts, a Thursday, in May 2024.
Library Annex:
Some changes are being made with volunteers assisting. Currently there are not many volunteers. Brenda needs to be particular with volunteer selection.
Matt replaced an old window in the basement with a new Harvey window.
Painting estimates are needed for FY25 budget, the barn and north side of house need painting. Brenda is now beginning the process.
Brenda will be looking for estimates for bat removal in the Annex, several bats are hibernating in the attic.
Board of Selectmen ordered the Highway Department to install “no parking” signs on the common. This vote was rescinded at the BOS meeting and Highway Dept. will look into painting either the street or curb with No Parking on Common Street side of the library.
Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6 at 6:30 pm, at 2 Lincoln Street.
