FY 2021 Joint CDBG Application - TOWN OF LEICESTER AND BARRE PUBLIC HEARING - MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 2021, 6PM, LEICESTER TOWN HALL, 3 WASHBURN SQ, LEICESTER. To discuss a proposed joint FY 2021 application by the towns of Leicester and Barre to the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development for up to $1,000,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds. The towns seek public input on potential grant-funded projects. Potential projects under development for the application currently include 1) a housing rehabilitation program for eligible low-to-moderate income residents in both communities, 2) road and miscellaneous site improvements at the Leicester Housing Authority, 1075 Main Street and 3) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) transition planning; and 4) and infrastructure and public facility assessment and planning focused within South Barre. These projects were identified as priorities that are consistent with community planning in both towns. All persons with questions or comments regarding the grant application will have an opportunity to be heard. If awarded, the Town of Leicester will be responsible for administration of the grant program with assistance from the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC). Those unable to attend the hearing may mail written comments to the Leicester Board of Selectmen, 3 Washburn Square Leicester, MA 01524, or comments may be emailed to CMRPC at cdunphy@cmrpc.org. Comments must be received no later than August 31, 2021. The Leicester Town Hall is handicapped accessible. The Leicester Select Board will conduct a Public Hearing on August 23, 2021, at 6:00 PM at the Leicester Town Hall, 3 Washburn Square.
