Agenda: | The Montachusett Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) and the Montachusett Regional Transit Authority (MART) to ask that information about an upcoming Public Information Meeting about the development of a regional roadway Safety Action Plan on October 30th at 6:30pm be added to the NAME OF MUNICIPALITY municipal calendar. MRPC in collaboration with MART and the agencies’ consultant WSP are partnering with the region’s communities to undertake a safety action plan to improve roadway safety outcomes in North-Central Massachusetts. The meeting will take place in-person at Fitchburg City Hall, online via Zoom, and will also be carried on several local public access channels. Despite the meeting being centrally locally in Fitchburg, I want to emphasize that this is a regional project and Ashburnham is in the study area with staff serving project’s Vision Zero Action Committee.
The second Public Information Meeting will provide the community with an opportunity to become fully acquainted with the results of work undertaken in the past five months to better understand the overall context for the area and specific problematic intersections or stretches of road. This represents the start of determining of where specific improvement projects may be built using Federally-approved safety countermeasures. Our team wants to hear from as many roadway users as possible as we being this phase of work and would greatly appreciate Ashburnham sharing information about the meeting on its calendar and wherever else appropriate.
I have attached a meeting flyer in both English and Spanish for posting on the municipal calendar along with a project factsheet. A recording of the first Public Information Meeting can be viewed here. |
