AGENDA

•	Approval of minutes from AHT meeting of January 30, 2023

•	Possible use of Town channels to promote the AHT’s desire to accept gifts for affordable housing efforts
o	Possible tax bill mailer for April
o	Town News section on home page

•	Continued discussion with respect to a possible initial affordable housing project
o	Summary of Hamilton Town Planner’s comments on the Asbury Street project
o	Discussion of AHT’s criteria (i.e. local preference, veterans, seniors, etc.)
o	Discussion of whether increasing the Town’s Subsidized Housing Inventory (SHI) by working within State-required guidelines is preferable to the Town offering affordable housing on its own and being able to set all of the eligibility parameters (but not officially increase the SHI).
o	Partnership with large apartment complex owners in Essex
o	Possible use of Town-owned property
	30 Apple Street (Town will soon own)
	31 Apple Street (Town may consider purchasing in April)
•	Possibly rehab of a dwelling that already exists on the parcel
	9 Milk Street (Currently in 61A and listed for sale)
o	Partnership with Essex County Habitat for Humanity for owned units
o	Partnership with Harborlight Community Partners for rented units
o	Town sale of a portion of Town-owned property at market-rate in order to subsidize the Town’s development of affordable housing on the same parent parcel
o	Partnership with other agencies

•	Continued discussion with respect to a request for Community Preservation funding at Annual Town Meeting
o	Summary of discussion with Community Preservation Committee point person
o	Discussion of what might be requested and the rationale behind it

•	Select a date for the next meeting

•	Items that were not apparent to the Chair at least 48 hours prior to the meeting posting deadline
