The Essex Planning Board will hold a site plan meeting on September 28 at 4:30 PM at 11 Choate Street.
Members of the Essex Planning Board will convene on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 4:30 PM at 11 Choate Street. Choate Street is a designated Scenic Road in Essex. At a regular planning board meeting on September 21, there was discussion as to whether a wall at 11 Choate Street had been partially removed without permission. The board will visit the site to review the location of the complaint and determine whether the disturbance included the modification of a stone wall.
Chapter 40 Section 15C of Mass. General Law reads: After a road has been designated as a scenic road any repair, maintenance, reconstruction, or paving work done with respect thereto shall not involve or include the cutting or removal of trees, or the tearing down or destruction of stone walls, or portions thereof, except with the prior written consent of the planning board.
